Captain Vance Tomaselli

On February 16th Captain Vance Tomaselli made the ultimate sacrifice in service to his community when he suffered a massive stroke while responding to a structure fire at Camp Edwards near Angelus Oaks.

Captain Tomaselli passed away on February 21st at Loma Linda University Medical Center.

Captain Tomaselli has proudly served for 28 years with the San Bernardino County Fire Department as a paid-call firefighter assigned to Station 15 in Angelus Oaks.

He is survived by his son Jim Tomaselli and daughter Caryn Todd.

Governor Schwarzenegger has issued a statement .

A full "Firefighters Line of Duty Death Memorial Service" in honor of "Captain Vance" was conducted at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Highland, California on March 5th.

Vance R. Tomaselli, age 60, passed away February 21, 2008 at Loma Linda University Medical Center.
He was born June 21, 1947 in Ogden, Utah. He was a resident of Angelus Oaks for 36 years. Vance was a Fire Captain for Station #15 for the San Bernardino County Fire Dept.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janice M. Tomaselli. Vance is survived by his son, Jim Tomaselli of Yucaipa, CA; (Del Rosa Hot Shots) daughter, Caryn Todd of Bishop, CA; (Alpine Signs) brothers: Mike Tomaselli of Garden Grove, CA and Marty Tomaselli of Elkton, Oregon; sister: Jeri Alton of Bakersfield, CA; and one granddaughter: Carlee Todd.
